Day 80 - Slow and steady.

So I did find my way back to the gym again. Sunday (Day 84) I hopped back on the treadmill, and tis time attempted a little run. Ouch! It wasn't so bad, but definitely harder than I remember. Baby steps.

The true difficulty will be the time in between workouts. The fear grows that we will not be prepared in time.

And of course, we as a family need to seriously reconsider our diet. Pregnancy was a luxury, and then the stress of early motherhood meant lots of emotional eating. No more excuses, yet I always find ways of making them. I am considering returning to Weight Watchers. I do think it has to be a family move, though.

Going to go back to the gym tonight. A little more running. I figure I can safely get back in the pool in a few weeks. Just have to jump.

Day 87 - Time slips by.

Well, I finally made it back to the gym this week. I decided to take it slow. As eager as I am to shed some pounds, sweat a bit and get up to speed, I realized that too much too fast could really set me back.

So it was some speed walking, some bike time, and some crunches to start.

Two days later, and I still hurt a little. How lame is that.

I'd like to go twice a week. Maybe Sunday?

Day 97 - Still no movement.

Well, poo. I had good intentions of using Mother's Day morning to hit the gym, but decided to sleep in instead.

I'm hoping that once V is in child care, I'll be able to do more with my lunch hours while working from home. Until then, who knows!

Day 100 - Starting over, again!

I'm back! As you can tell by the last time I posted, we got a little sidetracked from last year's training regime, but in the absolutely most joyful way! Somewhere around, oh, day 84 or so we found out that we were pregnant! Vincent arrived February 2.2.2011 and we're pleased as punch to have him in our lives.

So I ended up deferring my Danskin registartion until this year - August 14. So we've got 3.5 months - 100 days - to get up to working order. The hill is steep - nothing close to vigiorous exercise has taken place in almost a year. Add to that fitting in workouts while juggling the newfound responsibilities of parenthood (and simply just wanting to spend lots of time with the little guy) will make this next triathlon a challenge.

I'm up for it! I will go in with no expectations other than finishing. I've got an amazing husband who is happy to let me hit the gym when I want/need to, so that will help get things moving. I'm actually eager to get my sweat on, though the prospect of putting on a bathing suit is a little daunting.

Needless to say, this blog may be more about the challenges (and joys!) of juggling the little man, work, and life, but I'll try to stick to triathlon training as much as I can.

So here we go!
